The demure white Givenchy dress Audrey Hepburn collected her Best Actress trophy in 1954 lives long in the memory, and Lupita Nyong’o’s Oscar-winning moment in 2014 was made all the more special by her powder-blue Prada gown.
Last year, all eyes were on modern red-carpet queen Zendaya, who pulled off a subtle homage to another look listed here: Sharon Stone’s Vera Wang skirt and Gap shirt combo from the 1998 ceremony.
