These 1980s-inspired earrings are already everywhere

They are already among the essentials of style experts.

Which earrings to wear? Many trends have come back from past decades, particularly the 1980s.

Oversized shoulders and pop colors are making a comeback on the fashion scene. The same applies to jewelry, where we find the imposing earrings left over from the eighties.

These are the earrings that will count in the coming seasons. A trend that  Anthony Vaccarello has made Saint Laurent a must-have. The creative director reinterprets daywear for spring-summer 2024. The elegant simplicity of his pieces is evident in their streamlined cuts and easy-to-wear materials. The only extravagance, if you can call it that, is the massive gold jewelry with vintage-inspired clip-ons. Fashion houses and jewelers all followed suit.

As trendsetters, celebrities were quick to wear them. Hailey Bieber, Elsa Hosk, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Jasmine Tookes to name but a few, have swiped their lobes with these retro earrings. Because they make a statement, they can be worn as the centerpiece of an ensemble. The only rule to follow: combine them with more discreet, minimalist jewelry to find the perfect balance. Here are some convincing examples.
