From mid-February to early April, we ended our weeks with a new episode of The White Lotus, and filled all the days in between by analyzing its characters, debating their decisions, daydreaming about their outfits and, of course, humming the opening theme. Admittedly the old one, but we do not hold the change against the series. The White Lotus had us completely hooked with an exceptionally thrilling season, one that made it worth watching television the old-fashioned way, one episode per week. It is therefore no surprise that even before the final episode saw the light of day, the series was confirmed for a fourth season. Cancelling this show would be one of the biggest mistakes in HBO’s history.
But The White Lotus still occupies our thoughts even now, after we have watched the grandiose and surprising finale. We are wondering what comes next and what tricks the creators are still hiding up their sleeves. Although we do not yet have most concrete answers, and we do not believe the studio does either, there are still some facts we know that make us endlessly excited for the season ahead.
For some time now, rumors have been circulating about who might appear in the newest season of The White Lotus. Many teased our imagination with reports that Helena Bonham Carter was in talks for one of the leading roles, and now we can officially rejoice. The star of Fight Club and numerous films by Tim Burton will appear in one of the main roles in the new season.

The studio recently confirmed that Chris Messina, known for his roles in Sharp Objects and The Mindy Project, will also be joining the actress in France. Alexander Ludwig, the star of Vikings, is also part of the cast, and alongside him we will see actress and musician AJ Michalka. A legend of British comedy films, Steve Coogan, is also becoming part of the The White Lotus story. The cast will also be joined by Marissa Long and Caleb Jonte Edwards, for whom the fourth season will mark their first major roles. A grand start to a career, right?

In addition to them, we believe that The White Lotus, as before, will assemble an exciting new ensemble cast. Still, we are not ruling out characters who survived previous seasons (spoiler alert!), such as Jon Gries, who could return as Greg, and Natasha Rothwell, who plays Belinda. It would not be bad to see where they ended up.
Brush up on your French, and your murder mystery-solving skills, because we are checking into Château de la Messardière for the fourth season of The White Lotus.
According to Variety, the new season of Mike White’s hit series will be filmed in a 19th-century château on the French Riviera, as well as at several nearby locations and one location in Paris. Named one of the best hotels in the south of France by Vogue, the Château is a five-star luxury hotel from the Airelles group, originally built as a wedding gift from a wealthy cognac merchant to his daughter.
With its many hectares of estate and hilltop views over the Bay of Saint-Tropez, the vineyards of Ramatuelle and the beaches of Pampelonne, it has long been a favorite destination of the global jet set. Today, the hotel also boasts a collection of Rolls-Royce cars, of course with drivers, which guests can use to explore the region, whether heading into town or to a beach club. There are also lush tennis courts, a large central pool and expansive gardens. More than enough space for the chaos, intrigue, sex and various misdeeds that fans can expect from the guests and staff of The White Lotus.
Although little is currently known about the plot of the new season, sources told Variety that it could include the Cannes Film Festival.

Naturally, the new season will once again be directed by Mike White, and details about the cast are being revealed gradually. However, it is known which key member of the team is definitely not returning: composer Cristobal Tapia de Veer. The opening credits of The White Lotus sparked perhaps the most debate about opening themes in recent memory, or ever. We were all so struck by the absence of the iconic lo-lo-lo-lo in the third season, from the piece composed by Tapia de Veer. Although he won three Emmys, the composer shared that his collaboration with White was very difficult, and that during the making of the third season they had their “final argument.” Did White also miss humming lo-lo-lo-lo in every spare moment of the day? From interviews, it is clear that there were disagreements between the two creatives, and the series will take a hit from the end of this collaboration. However, I cannot shake the feeling that this could perhaps be a good thing, a new beginning, with the potential for a new viral composition that only needs to follow in the footsteps of the original to delight fans.

The first two seasons of The White Lotus were released in consecutive years, 2021 and 2022. However, it took more than two years for the third season to see the light of day. This can be partly attributed to the Hollywood strikes in 2023, which halted production, but that is certainly not the only reason. Since the team had long been searching for a new location, a key element of the story in this series, perhaps we can optimistically hope for its return at the end of next year. For now, 2027 seems like the most realistic option.
