Everything we know about Raye’s new album

Tara Đukić

January 27, 2026

It is no secret that I am secretly in love with all those women who manage to remain untamedly themselves within the mainstream industry. When I say that, I mean Lady Gaga, Sevdaliza, Florence + The Machine, Rosalia, Björk, and of course Raye, the British singer who has now officially confirmed that her second album, titled This Music May Contain Hope, is arriving this spring. I cannot imagine any new songs replacing hits like Escapism and Black Mascara from the debut My 21st Century Blues on my Spotify playlist, but since the list of new tracks is double digit, I am willing to let her prove me wrong. In fact, I am rooting for her, especially because I deeply relate to each of her phases, and after heartbreak, she is announcing that it is time for optimism. Below, we bring everything we know about Raye’s new album.

Which songs will be on the album?

The exact tracklist has not yet been confirmed, but according to information from her official website, the album will feature 17 tracks, including the major hit Where Is My Husband!.

What is particularly interesting is that the album will have a special concept. Namely, This Music May Contain Hope is divided into four seasons, with each side of the vinyl representing one of them and taking us on a sonic journey that begins in darkness and ends in light. Does that sound familiar? I cannot shake the feeling that Rosalia has sparked an entirely new genre and direction that we did not even know we needed, one in which classical and pop music merge in an almost transcendental way. The intro track is titled Girl Under the Gray Cloud, and the first song is called I Will Overcome. She described it as “big and dramatic, unapologetically so,” adding: “In one verse it says: ‘Aren’t we all broken people?’ We have just perfected the way we hide it. But it is a guarantee of life that we will all die. So am I going to live like this my whole life? Right now I am not okay, but somehow I will get there. I will overcome.” That is literally what my optimism sounds like.

Given that she writes her own lyrics, we can expect more personal, confessional songs that speak of a new Raye, one who has stepped away from destructive behavior and finally found discipline, balance, and control. “Now I will have a glass of wine from time to time, but I no longer drink to fix something, bury it, numb myself, or escape,” she stated.

When is the album coming out?

The album This Music May Contain Hope will be released on March 27, 2026.

What did Raye say about the new album?

“Music is medicine, I have always said that. I think I am now in the process of making medicine for myself, which I can share with the world. I want us all to tell ourselves that everything will be okay and to have faith in the seed we planted beneath the snow. I wanted to create something that feels like a hug, a bed, or a soft refuge for anyone who needs it.”
