A fashion trend tailor-made for Gilmore Girls and Dead Poets Society fans

What is the poetcore trend, why it suits us so well, and runway picks

Pinterest Predicts is an annual trend forecast published by Pinterest every year, presenting which themes, aesthetics, colors, concepts, and habits, based on their data, will emerge and grow in the coming year. Their forecast is based on real data. They analyze billions of searches, saves (“pins”), and user interactions and, with the help of advanced analytics and expert trend evaluation, identify those with genuine potential to shape directions in the year ahead. Pinterest states that their predictions are highly reliable: the trends they forecast often become significant across all sectors, from fashion and beauty to interior design and gastronomy.

Among the many trends that appear truly inspiring and fun, there is also an aesthetic that feels tailor-made for me: poetcore. According to Pinterest analysis, searches for the term “the poet aesthetic” have increased by 175 percent, followed by “satchel bag aesthetic” with an 85 percent increase, “tie accessories” at 85 percent, and “outfits with capes” with a 65 percent rise in searches. I can confidently say that poetcore, with its long capes and coats, pairs perfectly with the cold winter months, and fashion runways have also anticipated it for the spring season.

This is a trend that romanticizes reading and writing poetry. Imagine your cozy corner in your favorite café with a thick book of poems and the scent of espresso. Or that stolen moment between obligations, when you find the perfect bench in a park beneath the tree canopies, where you can pour all your thoughts and ideas onto paper. The choice of author is up to you, while we have taken care of the fashion references from the spring runways to help you more easily step into the role of a member of the Dead Poets Society.

Vintage-inspired blouses and shirts

Blouses with ruffled collars that flirt with the Victorian era have moved from autumn moodboards onto the spring runways as well.

The flutter of capes

Undoubtedly the most poetic garment, especially when it flutters in a misty morning, with brands offering their interpretations ranging from knitted to draped and elegant.

Tailoring

An indispensable piece for recreating the poetcore trend is undoubtedly a well-tailored blazer, whether you already have one in your wardrobe or wish to invest in a truly timeless piece.

Poetic fashion accessories

The finishing touch will be defined by the right fashion accessories that you surely already own: ties, brooches, bags with metal clasps, leather belts. Let your imagination run free.
