This is the lip liner behind Nina Park’s fuller, juicier lip technique

February 1, 2026

It seems there isn’t a single person who, in the past month, hasn’t at least thought about recreating the lip look made famous by makeup artist Nina Park. Her list of celebrity faces that went viral thanks to her technique is probably as long as her waiting list. That technique makes everyone she enhances look completely natural, yet somehow inexplicably better. Like a filter that highlights everything that brings harmony to the face, the most striking part of her look is the lips, perfectly defined and contoured. The secret of their allure lies precisely in this part of the look.

Nina Park manages to make every pair of lips, no matter their size, appear fuller and juicier. The look is layered and precise, a perfect example of how subtle touches can change everything. What makes Nina Park’s lips so irresistible, however, is the contouring.

Lip contouring like Nina Park

Lip contouring, the technique of defining the lips, became popular last year when Charli XCX and Bella Hadid highlighted this makeup step as key to their look.

To achieve the look of contoured lips, you need to:

  • gently outline the edge of the lips with a soft hand
  • then soften the sharp line with a makeup sponge or your fingers
  • finally, to keep the contoured shadow in place, set it with setting powder

But none of this technique will look right, nor will you achieve the desired look, if you choose the wrong shade of contour pencil.

The shade of the contour pencil is key

Shadows on our face always have a brown undertone, whether when contouring the cheeks or the lips. However, not every brown shade is ideal for contouring. The wrong shade can create the wrong effect, so instead of recreating a shadow, the face might look unevenly finished. Therefore, when choosing a lip pencil to recreate Nina Park’s lips, it’s important to start with a cool brown pencil as the foundation of the entire look.
