We know where we will be during the first week of the new 2026

Ever since I spoke with Leslie David, who is coming to Zagreb in February as a guest of the Kiosk conference, as one of a series of interesting interlocutors, I keep reminding myself that 6 February will be an exciting day at Lauba. The first pop-up event at Zagreb’s Holographik revealed the organizers’ serious intention for the KIOSK conference to become an event that will change the marketing scene in Zagreb, and the list of speakers from the region and abroad for the conference’s first edition is impressive. We are personally pleased that one of the panels will feature Milan Đačić, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Adria.
After the daytime segment of the KIOSK Branding Conference was already announced as one of the key gatherings of the regional creative scene, KIOSK now reveals its nighttime side as well. On Friday, 9 January, starting at 6 pm, the program moves to Dirty Old Shop on Tratinska Street, where the second KIOSK pop-up event will take place and the lineup for KIOSK AFTER DARK will be presented for the first time.
For this occasion, the space will be transformed into an atmosphere inspired by Berlin Späti shops, a place for unwinding, socializing, and spontaneous encounters after the workday. There, visitors will be able to listen to the DJ lineup that will perform at the afterparty at the Zagreb club Peti Kupe, a continuation of the conference program. The pop-up brings a vinyl listening session with DJ Itcha and Funk Guru, Club Mate drinks on offer, a 10 percent discount on everything in Dirty Old Shop, and open socializing for all interested visitors. Admission is free.

KIOSK AFTER DARK is conceived as an extension of the conference day, where energy, ideas, and conversations transition into the city’s nighttime atmosphere. The pop-up at Dirty Old Shop thus becomes an overture to the afterparty, but also an opportunity for another gathering of the KIOSK community before the conference itself. The event is open to friends, colleagues, and all interested attendees, and visitors can join simply by confirming attendance on the event page. For more information, follow KIOSK on Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook, while tickets for the conference itself are available at kioskconference.com.

Speaking of the legendary Kiosk, as part of the KIOSK conference the documentary film K67 will be premiered. It tells the story of one of the most recognizable examples of everyday architecture in Europe, the modular kiosk designed in 1967 by Saša Mächtig. At KIOSK, the documentary will be shown in a special, exclusive version, followed by a discussion moderated by Marko Dabrović (Studio 3LHD). The conversation will touch on architecture, authorship, and legacy, but also on how a single idea can quietly shape everyday life for decades.

Including the work of Saša Mächtig in the KIOSK Branding Conference program carries additional symbolic weight, as it takes place ahead of a major recognition. The day after the conference, Mächtig will receive the Prešeren Award for Lifetime Achievement in Slovenia in 2026, the highest national recognition for art and culture. His appearance in Zagreb thus becomes a kind of career cross section, as well as an opportunity to hear firsthand how a functional object grew into a cultural phenomenon.
