Ante Pažanin reveals three hairstyles that will quickly refresh your look this winter

In winter, I feel a particular need to refresh my appearance. The greyness that lasts for weeks and the rain that stubbornly refuses to turn into snow can bring a sense of monotony to the day, making me lose motivation. In addition to having to put more effort into lifting my mood and creative energy through various well-being routines during winter, I have realized that changing my hairstyle is the ideal way to break out of an established routine. With a change of hairstyle, both my hair and I gain a special surge of energy. But which hairstyle should I choose?

Renowned hairstylist and owner of the acclaimed hair salon TE Studio, Ante Pažanin, gave me three hairstyle ideas that anyone can use to easily refresh their look, and they are perfect for winter.

Three transformative hairstyles for winter

1/ Shag hairstyle

Ante recommends looking to the wild seventies for inspiration. “The shag cut takes us back to the golden age of the 1970s, but in a softer version, with layers that add volume and movement, often paired with bangs or fringe that frame the face. The shag cut works for both shorter and longer hair, and what defines this hairstyle are the layered sections cut with natural softness and thinned ends, creating a relaxed, playful effect. Best of all, it can be adapted to all face shapes, and depending on the quality and structure of the hair, styling is almost unnecessary or very easy,” Ante suggests.

2/ Butterfly cut

For a hairstyle that does not require hours of styling, Ante recommends layered cutting known as the butterfly cut. “Layering gives the hairstyle a sense of lightness and a distinct natural movement to the hair. This kind of haircut looks its best when styled in irregular, soft, undefined waves or simply with a broken texture, giving a modern and relaxed feel to the person wearing it,” Ante points out.

3/ Bangs

This was the year when bangs made a comeback, and Ante believes we should carry them into the new year as well. “Bangs are an essential hair trend during the winter months. They can be combined with many different hairstyles and shapes, as well as lengths. My personal favorite is brow length bangs, with longer sections at the sides and not too dense in the middle. Paired with soft, layered strands that add ease, softness, and natural texture, these bangs perfectly frame and soften the facial features.”
