The hair treatment that brought my hair back to life

Hair after an overly active period

I want to share a recent discovery with you and reaffirm Fleabag when she says, “Hair is everything.”

January seems to be the month when I see my friends the most. We are all somehow more enthusiastic, carrying that indescribable feeling of a new beginning inside us, and we all want to stretch it out for as long as possible. I cannot remember the last time I went out this much: streets, restaurants, cafés, clubs, markets. These were all places I visited with friends throughout the month.

I was exposed to all the elements: snow, rain, wind, fog. Life was so dynamic that I barely looked in the mirror. Then one morning I stopped, took a closer look, and noticed that my hair, which I had freshly dyed and cut before the holidays, looked tired, with slightly grown-out roots, something that usually never bothers me, dry, with ends that were slightly split.

I sent a message to my hairdresser at the speed of light

I knew I did not want to dye my hair again. Not enough time had passed, and my hair would not be able to handle that kind of stress. Trust me, years of lightening my hair, read bleaching, taught me that sometimes you need to slow down and give your hair a bit of rest.

When I arrived at the salon, my hairdresser and I immediately started something that resembled a psychotherapy session, my therapist would probably be annoyed to learn that I have conversations with my hairdresser that are just as complex as the ones I have with her. We realized that the color was fine, but the hair itself was not. That was a relief, because what scared me most was having to dye it again. I just wanted my hair to look healthy and presentable again, not like it had gone through January without a break, which, realistically, it had.

We agreed that we wanted my hair to look better, not necessarily different.

That was when my hairdresser suggested the Dia Light Acidic Gloss treatment. Not as coloring in the classic sense, but as something between care and coloration. In this way, we could refresh the tone, boost shine, and improve hair quality, without an aggressive chemical process. What immediately sounded appealing and reassuring was the fact that this treatment does not lighten the hair or change its natural color, but works with what I already have.

A treatment for refreshing hair, not coloring it

My hairdresser emphasized, and I made an effort to understand the entire chemical background of his explanation, that the main benefits of the Dia Light Acidic Gloss treatment are the acidic pH and hyaluronic acid contained in the product. During the treatment, “the cuticle closes, the hair is instantly hydrated and gains smoothness.” To put it simply, the hair looks better, without the feeling that I have put it through additional damage.

Hair challenges rarely come in just one form. Sometimes I know that my color and haircut are fine, but the hair simply lacks shine. In other situations, especially after lightening, the issue is not the color itself, but the tone that gradually shifts in the wrong direction, a bit of yellowing or greying. And sometimes I just want to refresh my hair along its entire length, regardless of whether it is dyed or not.

This is exactly where Dia Light makes sense, not as one universal solution, but through three different salon approaches. Hyaluronic toning is intended for lightened hair that needs balance and tonal clarity restored. Hyaluronic color refreshment is useful when color starts to fade after regrowth coloring. And hyaluronic gloss is the most discreet option of all. A treatment that does not change the color, but restores reflectivity, softness, and the healthy look we all strive for.

Instead of another change or correction, I chose care. This treatment is definitely something I will return to, as a small reset between colorings.

A small homage to all hairdressers and their advice and patience.

At the end of the treatment, I was extremely satisfied with the result and realized that some of the best beauty advice does not come from Instagram or TikTok, but from the salon chair. One of my best friends is absolutely right when she says she believes her hairdresser knows her better than her partner of ten years.

For those who want to know more, here is precise information about the treatment that revitalized my hair:

What is the Dia Light Acidic Gloss treatment?

The Dia Light Acidic Gloss treatment is a new generation professional acidic coloration designed to enhance tone while preserving hair quality. Thanks to a formula enriched with hyaluronic acid, the treatment works in harmony with the hair’s natural pH, closes the cuticle, and restores optimal hydration levels. The result is even color, a clean tone, and pronounced shine, without additional stress on the hair.

What are the benefits of the Dia Light Acidic Gloss treatment?

Its advantage lies in the balance between aesthetics and care: hair receives up to twice as much hydration, color is up to 82% shinier, while breakage is reduced by up to 73%. The formula preserves the fiber structure and allows the color to reflect evenly, giving the hair softness, elasticity, and movement that remains visible even after the treatment.

Who is the Dia Light Acidic Gloss treatment for?

Dia Light Acidic Gloss is intended for lightened, colored, as well as natural hair that needs shine and precise tone correction. It is ideal as a final salon step or as a refresh between two colorings, for anyone who wants a color that looks sophisticated yet healthy, in line with the professional standards of the L’Oréal Professionnel brand.
