We explored the most beautiful places to buy flowers in Zagreb and beyond

Because flowers are always a good idea!

Tina Kovačićek

October 25, 2025

There are few tricks that so effortlessly transform our small personal universes. I do not know about others, but I am certain of one: a bouquet of flowers instantly makes the day better. It also serves as a solution when we want to quietly, without many words, say “I care” or “I’m sorry.” A sincere floral stem congratulates birthdays, celebrates love, celebrates women, and men too, why not, and even celebrates interiors that may feel dull, instantly turning them into a fragrant meadow. In short, flowers are that detail that guides every situation in a better direction, and this list, composed of the best small flower shops and floral designers, is your path to the most beautiful bouquets. Here is a chance to make someone’s day better.

Blumen

Address: Ulica Marka Stančića 11, Zagreb

Vanja Blumenšajn was outstanding as a creative director at one of our most successful agencies, and then at one point decided to turn in a completely different direction. Or perhaps not so different after all, because why limit oneself, it might be better to say that he chose to focus on a different kind of creative communication. The art of floristry became his next stop, and Blumen the place where bouquets, arrangements, decorations, and mobile installations, yes, made of dried flowers and plants are created, which is what the studio specializes in. “My inner compass always leads me toward beauty: in people, objects, moments. Flowers have a magical ability; even if I pass by a vase a hundred times a day, a hundred times it enchants me to think: how beautiful this is! And the day becomes better. And I become better,” he once told me. Interestingly, Vanja experiments with different dried flower techniques to create unique pieces that often become permanent elements within a space. Visit him in person by appointment at the address, or reach out via the Blumen inbox.

Cvit Happens

Address: Ilica 49, Zagreb

As long as he can remember, Antun Bauer has always nurtured a passion for art. After living and working in Amsterdam, the global flower capital, he decided to open his own studio in Zagreb. An eye for detail and a sense of artistry are present in Antun’s work, as he believes that flowers communicate deep emotions and ideas. His style is playful, romantic, intriguing, and raw. He is known for large floral installations created according to clients’ wishes, leaving a lasting impression regardless of the occasion, whether it is a grand wedding or an intimate gathering, wreaths, or scenography for events.

Studio 201 Flowers

Address: Petrova 31, Zagreb

Studio 201 is a place with an interesting concept. Ivana Bekavac, whom we have loved since MasterChef and Hell’s Kitchen, takes care of the food, while her sister, economist Mara Kraljević, takes care of the flowers. Here you can enjoy a good meal at lunchtime, have a great coffee, and buy a bouquet of flowers arranged by Mara. This is how the concept of 201 Flowers became an extended floral arm of one of Zagreb’s favorite gastro addresses. Mara works by commission for all occasions, loves when she manages to pick the flowers herself, and if you do not find her at Studio 201, reach out via inbox.

Tvoje

Address: Martićeva 14F

Architect Boška Bahtijarević at one point in her life set aside her architectural practice to dedicate herself to her great love, flowers. As she stated in an interview, her desire for creative expression and hands-on work, along with a sense of saturation from the bureaucracy and stress of architectural practice, led her to make a career shift. The concept store flower shop Tvoje, located in the very center of the city, is a colorful place of inspiration and cheerfulness, and definitely a go-to location if you are preparing to buy a gift. Whether you are looking for a bouquet, an arrangement, a flower or two, or a decorative idea, as Boška also offers small home items in her little creative floral city corner.

Tulip studio

Address: Prilaz Gjure Deželića 8, Zagreb

Last year, Lana Bašić opened Tulip studio in the very center of the city, after working for a long time through direct inbox orders. The studio is actually conceived as more than an artisan flower shop, as one might initially think. It also functions as a showroom where all arrangements are made for event scenography orders, weddings, celebrations, and gatherings, which is why Lana formed an entire team responsible for production and creativity. You will settle into the lounge area when you come for a meeting, which also serves as a space for smaller events. Aesthetically, Tulip studio is dedicated to fresh and seasonal flowers, and local suppliers whenever possible. Lana emphasizes that she is an advocate of minimalism, so often even a single flower in a vase is enough to make an impression, she says. Of course, the offering is diverse, and every arrangement is created in collaboration with the client.

Samonikla

Address: Zagreb, orders accepted via inbox

There is probably no wedding we have liked where the bride did not carry a bouquet signed by Samonikla. Maja Subotić has been working in floral design for years, and in addition to creating bouquets, arrangements, and decorative details, she regularly holds themed workshops. Ecology and sustainability are at the core of Maja’s work, and foraging wild plants is one of her favorite ways to spend time. In previous interviews she has often emphasized that this is an important way to reduce transport and gas emissions.

Atelier Saša Šekoranja

Address: Kralja Držislava 10, Zagreb

Artist, designer, florist, visionary, Saša Šekoranja is all of this and more. For years he has confidently ruled the Croatian decorative flora, beautiful and creative, which, whether carried as a gift or brought into one’s own interior as decoration, tells special creative stories. His atelier in the city center is conceived as a multifunctional gallery and showroom that often becomes a stage for his artistic play. It is a pleasure to walk past the shop window, curious about what Saša has created this time, as the gallery display changes regularly. He is also excellent when he enters into dialogue with painting, which seems to become an extension of the floral magic he creates. His atelier is an unmissable stop when talking about artisan florists in Zagreb.

Studio Proplanak

Address: Bistranska 114, Gornja Bistra

Katarina Zlatec has been focused on floral design for some time, and this year she opened Studio Proplanak in Gornja Bistra, about twenty minutes from Zagreb, within the complex of a future new market. Katarina grows part of the flowers in her own garden, while the rest she sources from local producers, carefully considering the season. She advocates for an ecological approach, local cultivation, and waste reduction, which is why her bouquets, arrangements, and spatial decorations are created with a special vision and respect for nature. Proplanak also offers handmade decorative objects such as ceramics.

What Camille Does

Address: Trg Julija Skjavetića 1, Šibenik

When Nina Blaće, whom I have known since our university days studying journalism, told me she was opening an artisan flower shop in the center of Šibenik, Camille floral studio & everyday living, it marked her return from Berlin and the beginning of her unique floral creative story. She always had style, and now she has translated it into a small, intimate boutique space where you can buy a bouquet, a wreath, an arrangement, a decorative home detail, or simply draw inspiration from an energy reminiscent of Berlin or France. Places you want to retreat into and absorb for hours. P.S. Nina and Katarina sometimes go together to forage wild flowers and plants across Dalmatia.

Tulipa

Address: Velebitska 56, Split

The story of Tulipa began long before the doors of the flower shop of the same name opened in Split. “It all started from a love for flowers and a great desire to turn everyday life into something more beautiful,” says owner Ivona Vidović, who began her floral adventure in 2015 after years of honing her skills in the world of flowers. It was then that the idea of Tulipa Decor was born, a creative corner responsible for weddings, events, and “all those moments that deserve a little magic.” To bring the story together under one roof, she opened the Tulipa flower shop, where she daily presents fresh seasonal flowers in vases and works by commission.

YesYesYes

Address: Varaždin, Lošinj, orders via inbox

Dina Rain is a young and talented florist who, after the Academy of Applied Arts and years of work in design and event styling, entered the world of flowers by chance. Her first step was decorating a friend’s wedding. Over time, she moved away from weddings and large events, developing a more intimate, exploratory relationship with plants. Her main interest became flowers in their free, undesigned form. She also began planting flowers herself, which further softened and naturalized her approach. Today she focuses on setups and spatial installations, viewing arrangements as small spatial narratives rather than mere decorations. Creatively combining the artistic and the practical led her to Lošinj Hotel & Villas, where she works in horticulture and lives between Varaždin and Lošinj. During flower season, spring and summer, she offers seasonal bouquets, while winter brings wreaths and conifer arrangements. She grows part of the flowers herself in Varaždin and loves harvesting them, and aesthetically she belongs to a new wave of artisan florists who work simply, with a twist, and with great love for nature.
