Since its launch in 2015, Der Berliner Salon has been regarded as one of those events that Berlin Fashion Week visitors simply do not want to miss, and this season was no less exciting. One of the most important platforms for promoting German designers returned with a new edition, featuring a group exhibition of 45 promising young talents at Berlin’s Gemäldegalerie. The works of carefully selected creators offer insight into the German fashion scene, with a particular focus on supporting and promoting new talent, which remains one of the platform’s main objectives.

After last season presenting designers’ creations alongside the works of German photography legends Helmut Newton and Rico Puhlmann, who elevated fashion photography to the level of art, this time Der Berliner Salon placed fashion alongside world-renowned visual artists such as Raphael, Botticelli, Titian, and Caravaggio in the prestigious Gemäldegalerie, part of Berlin’s Kulturforum. In this way, the group exhibition of young design talents establishes a dialogue between contemporary design and the institution’s art-historical context, showing how fashion can be as inspiring as classical art.

“I am extremely pleased that Der Berliner Salon has once again been invited to take place at the Gemäldegalerie Berlin. I see it as a very strong signal that such a prestigious venue is reopening its doors to contemporary designers. With this edition of the Salon, we continue to pursue our shared ambition – to present fashion as a visible and tangible cultural asset,” said Christiane Arp, President of Fashion Council Germany, on the occasion of the exhibition’s opening.

Once again, the works of young talents displayed a true rhapsody of creativity, authenticity, and imagination, combined with an exceptional level of execution evident in precisely crafted pieces, carefully considered details, and the remarkable skill and dedication required for their realization. The diversity of ideas and innovative design solutions featured at Der Berliner Salon blends seamlessly with the artistic classics, celebrating together the unique beauty of talent, passion, and creativity – qualities that remain enduring hallmarks of humanity across time.

“The selection of designers for this year’s group exhibition reflects the diversity, quality, and creative strength of the current German fashion scene. Each participant carries their own distinctive mark and the ambition to understand fashion as a contemporary form of cultural expression,” said Marcus Kurz, director of the creative agency Nowadays, who, together with Christiane Arp, launched Der Berliner Salon in 2015 as a platform to promote German fashion, photography, and design. With each new edition and exhibition, Der Berliner Salon once again confirms how vital such platforms are for the fashion scene. Beyond serving as a springboard for young designers whose work needs promotion, its existence is also a great encouragement for those just beginning to step onto this path.

This edition of Der Berliner Salon will be open to the public at the Gemäldegalerie until February 22, 2026.
