Shoes in The Devil Wears Prada 2 that might comfort you if you are upset about the Valentino Rockstud heels

by Tina Lončar

November 15, 2025

Since humanity was blessed with the almighty internet, people have been upset. They became wildly distressed because they could not agree on whether the viral dress was gray or blue, even though it was simply ugly. They lost their minds because a Labubu they unboxed on camera was not the “right” color. They spiraled into existential crises because the store ran out of frozen yogurt. The latest thing to set the internet off is Miranda Priestly’s heels.

When the first teaser trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2 began circulating on social media, somewhere in the forest of flaming and heart-shaped emojis, dissatisfaction started to appear. The formidable editor strode confidently through the Runway hallway in the “wrong” shoes, red Valentino Rockstud heels launched by the Italian house in 2010. What shocked the internet was that Miranda’s choice seemed “somehow passé”, which made the online crowd wonder if she was losing her power or her mind, whether she was having an identity crisis, and what on earth had gotten into her.

Even though the Rockstud stilettos in every color sold out instantly after Valentino released them in the fall winter 2010 collection, with Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli as the house’s creative directors, the internet simply does not believe that Miranda has discovered the joys of resale platforms. It must be something much darker than buying vintage, and it does not look good. In case you also felt upset, angry, disappointed, or found yourself losing sleep because you were wondering what is going on with Miranda Priestly, here is a list of shoes that will probably appear in The Devil Wears Prada 2 and hopefully bring you a bit of comfort.

Although it seems that Andy Sachs barely takes her feet out of her Golden Goose Sunset boots for most of the film, which, by the way, look great, in the dreaded paparazzi photos from the set that also annoyed part of the internet, I noticed she is wearing white sculptural Prada Modellerie pumps that look as if they were crafted using origami techniques. At least Andy is wearing Prada, which puts my heart at ease.

Nothing soothes existential restlessness and swirling emotions like the sight of a great pair of boots. Even though everything suggests she has just survived the shipwreck of her life, Andy looks incredible in a pair of tall leather Paris Texas boots with a killer heel. I can easily imagine myself riding through the troubles of retrograde Mercury in these boots.

All is well. When she is not wearing cult but passé shoe styles, Miranda marches around in fiery red Jacquemus Cubisto slingback pumps. There is still hope that she has not completely surrendered herself to the whims of vintage.

No, it appears the situation is truly hopeless. Miranda has, by all accounts, surrendered to the charms of vintage. The editor who once dictated the rhythm of the seasons no longer chases trends. Instead, with almost meditative dedication, she gives herself over to the hunt for archival pieces. In addition to scoring the Valentino Rockstud heels on resale, she has also picked up a pair of Gucci Charlotte pumps.

I know this has not calmed you.

#5 Gabriela Hearst Andres

The woven Gabriela Hearst Andres shoes look like the perfect pumps for all the dramas that can hit a fashion editorial team in a single day. They are stable enough if you need to run, elegant enough for any unexpected event you have to rush to, and adaptable to just about anything. Calming. I approve.

#5 Chloé Crisscross-Strap

It seems Andy has joined the Chloé girls, and it would not be surprising to see her in the front row of a Chemena Kamali show. In the sequel, we have spotted at least two pairs carrying the Chloé signature, and for the sake of calming the nerves I chose the brown leather platform sandals with a very high heel that Andy wears when she decides to go on vacation. Luckily, those were not the shoes responsible for that viral fall on the stairs. I am not sure anyone would have laughed if that had been the case.

#6 Rene Caovilla Braid

And finally, there is a beautiful and elegant shoe that does not look controversial in the slightest, the Rene Caovilla Braid sandal in electric blue. Besides looking refined, with at least a hundred possible occasions to wear them, they are adorned with hand-set crystals carefully arranged along every strap. Stunning.
