Danijela Dimitrovska shares everything about her first film role and the dress crafted from 35 meters of silk

She has traded the lights of the runway for the spotlights of a film set. Although she still sees herself as a model at heart, Danijela Dimitrovska has taken on her first acting role. We asked her how this transformative process unfolded ahead of the premiere of the film Povratak Žikine dinastije.

There are moments in life that prove courage pays off. For Danijela Dimitrovska, stepping into the role of an actress in Povratak Žikine dinastije turned out to be a perfect fit. Moving from model and TV host to actress is anything but simple, yet we know that fortune favors the bold, and this time it was on her side. “At first everything felt a little traumatic because I am very self critical, but once things got going I realized I was doing better than I expected. People in the industry confirmed it, and from that moment I began to enjoy myself,”

Danijela tells me as the makeup artist from AURA cosmetics applies the Hydra Matte liquid foundation for a flawless, velvety finish.

We met at the St. Regis Hotel in Belgrade together with the AURA team to learn everything about the moment she first steps in front of an audience as an actress. Danijela, calm and refined, revealed what the transition looked like behind the scenes. Moving from a woman who has embodied the aesthetics of fashion for years to someone who must convey emotion and character required a new kind of courage.

Danijela speaks quietly, yet it is clear that this transformation has strengthened her, given her a new sense of confidence and opened doors to a creativity that goes beyond aesthetics alone. She had already hinted some time ago that she especially enjoys playing with character and exploring human emotion.

“At my core I am a model, but I like the freedom that social media gives me and the fact that I can show my personality as it truly is. That is why I enjoy influencing the most”,

she admits as she slips into her beautiful cream silk dress that had been in the making for months and is crafted from 35 meters of silk

“The idea for this dress came together over months. The most interesting part is that we used silk for the entire piece, thirty five meters of it,” she says with a smile. The richness and lightness of the silk are a perfect symbol of the fluidity of her new transformation, though always with a serene spirit. That particularly impressive calmness is grounded in simple rituals.

“My best trick for staying calm before a big event is prayer, and the song Strong Enough by Cher boosts my energy before stepping onto the red carpet.”

And while the finishing touches are added, like Aura Classic lipstick in a timeless nude shade and Radiant Blush for a natural, fresh look, I ask her what she would say to herself ten years ago.

“Girl, do not worry, everything will be fine.”
