Beauty products we keep coming back to: inside the Vogue team’s beauty bags

No matter how many new products we try, we all stay loyal to at least one favorite over the years. For some, it’s an unbeatable lip balm; for others, a go-to hydrating serum. We’re opening our beauty bags to reveal the products we keep coming back to.

Biologique Recherche products have made a huge difference for my skin, which used to struggle with dryness and redness. One of the key turning points was introducing the right everyday essential—a cleanser. Biologique Recherche Lait Dermo-S is powerful enough to remove all impurities, yet nourishing and gentle enough to keep my skin balanced and soft. Especially when I use it with the Foreo Luna 3. Of course, before trying it, make sure to consult the team to see if it’s the right product for your skin.

The Danish brand Jorgobé is my latest beauty discovery. It’s been a year since I first tried their products, and every single one has been great, but the absolute winner is definitely the Retinol Night Treatment. With regular use (and SPF every morning!), the skin starts to look noticeably healthy and fresh after just a few weeks. Of course, it won’t perform miracles or erase a deep forehead wrinkle, but the overall appearance of the skin is visibly improved. I recommend it to everyone—even to people I don’t particularly like.

Although I love trying all sorts of products in search of that radiant skin we all dream of, one I always come back to is the 345 Relief Cream by Dr. Althea. Korean skincare generally works well for me because I have sensitive skin, and their formulas are usually simple, fragrance-free, and packed with great ingredients. I’ve already gone through four tubes of this cream, which is so lightweight that I have no idea how it manages to hydrate my skin so well. It contains niacinamide, which is excellent for clearing imperfections (and the marks that come after them), hyaluronic acid and red algae extract for hydration, and Centella Asiatica, a soothing ingredient found in almost every cream designed to protect the skin barrier. If you ask me, this is the best moisturizer for combination skin.

Since I honestly don’t use much makeup, I usually discover beauty products I like through recommendations. That’s how I stumbled upon the Benefit POREfessional primer—by accident, in my sister’s makeup bag—and I’ve been loyal to it ever since. I love its texture, which isn’t too watery or too thick, but the perfect balance of a matte finish that doesn’t dry out my skin. Its subtle nude shade works perfectly for me too, and every time I apply it, it feels like I’ve put a beauty filter over my face. Especially on days when I’m not wearing a full makeup look or when the weather is warm, I just use my daily SPF cream and this primer. Since I couldn’t buy it in Slovenia, I used to stock up every time I came to Zagreb or look for it at airports, but now that Douglas has opened here too, I no longer have to worry about that.

The product I keep coming back to is The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 serum. I return to it because it’s the only one that gives my skin that plump, hydrated look. It also seems to have reduced the flakiness of my skin, and I’ve noticed far fewer dark spots than before.

The product that works wonders for my currently dehydrated skin is the N°1 de CHANEL Revitalizing Serum. I also love its scent, how effortlessly it absorbs, and how well it blends with the rest of my routine. I don’t have to be too careful about what I apply before or after it. My skin feels incredibly smooth afterward and gains a beautiful, healthy glow.

You can probably imagine that I try more products than most people, so it’s really hard for me to choose just one beauty item I always return to. But when I think about the products I’ve been buying for ten years or more, two definitely stand out: the original Melem lip balm and the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. I have to admit, there’s truly no lip balm that nourishes as well as Melem. I’ve tried some of those innovative formulas that claim to plump the lips and so on, but at the end of the day, I always go back to Melem. It’s definitely the one product in my beauty collection that’s had my loyalty for years.
