Although KLISAB celebrated a major milestone last year, ten years on the scene, I still vividly remember their very first show. Since then, they have come a long way; times have changed, their aesthetic has evolved, but even back then it was clear they meant business and that building a fashion brand was never just a passing interest they would soon replace with something else.

Over the years, I have found a special kind of satisfaction in following their growth, probably because, in a way, we have grown in parallel, starting around the same time. But that is not the only reason. KLISAB is one of those rare brands that, and I truly believe this is a great achievement, managed to build a strong community, bringing together people who faithfully attend every show, show up at events in their signature patchwork blazers, and genuinely enjoy those seemingly casual summer gatherings in front of their boutique in Obrtnički prolaz. The reason their success feels so rewarding, beyond the fact that they have earned it through hard work, lies in that friendly sense of connection they have created with their audience. Those were the thoughts running through my mind in the days leading up to the presentation of KLISAB’s new collection at the Zagreb Fair, though I could not have known that I would get confirmation of all of it right there at the show.

Designers Tomislav Kliškinić and Marko Šabarić invited us to step into their Fall/Winter 2025 story, cleverly yet playfully titled King of His Own Castle. In the middle of a wide, gray concrete pavilion stood something that at first looked like a pile of blue cushions, but with the opening beats of the show, it became clear that it was an inflatable castle, the kind we used to find at amusement parks as kids. I love watching how people react when something suddenly reminds them of childhood, and in the audience, I caught a few smiling, softened faces. Almost everyone seemed to drift back to some old memory.

Beyond the production aspect, which the brand always curates with a special sense of thoughtfulness and care to complete its story, KLISAB infused its concept both into the collection and every detail of the runway presentation. From the very first look, it was clear that the brand had decided to boldly explore new aesthetic directions, focusing on softness, lightness, and fluidity. The confirmation of what I mentioned earlier came in the form of a diverse cast walking around the large blue castle. Alongside male and female models, the runway also featured the brand’s friends, colleagues from the fashion industry, and loyal KLISAB clients wearing pieces from the latest cold-season collection. In a special way, it was a beautiful testament to the kind of loyalty the brand has built over the years, something very few others can claim. It is an intangible value, yet so meaningful that it is difficult to put into words; you simply feel it, and last night, it was more than evident.

The aesthetic we created this season is probably the strongest reflection so far of our core team’s personal state, the designers said, describing a collection that explores the space where authenticity meets connection. Through 22 women’s and 11 men’s looks, they presented a stylistic shift that brought a sense of fluidity, lightness, and softness to their signature architectural silhouettes. This is especially evident in the dresses, but the collection also highlights beautifully structured, elegant coats — particularly the men’s ones paired with oversized scarves. One men’s look composed of several different plaid patterns instantly made it onto my list of favorites.

As always, KLISAB completed their collection with striking, playful details such as new versions of their pillow bags in different colors, airy capes that add a touch of charm to layered looks, long gloves, quirky puffy collars that amusingly resemble airplane travel pillows, and the already mentioned long, soft scarves that elegantly tie together the winter looks. I’m not entirely sure, but last night’s presentation felt like the biggest show KLISAB has ever staged. In the end, though, that’s not what really matters — what matters is that this is one we’ll surely remember for a long time.
