The feeling of freedom is synonymous with summer, and this summer, we find space for it in festivals and music. That’s exactly why the cover of the new issue features the most authentic figure of the regional music scene – Senidah. A person in whom the entire Balkans converge and find their unique voice.
Alongside her, the region is brimming with names that make today’s scene richly diverse. Among them, standouts like Tam, Masayah, Iva Lorens, Gaja Prestor, Miach, Zoi, Macha Ravel, and Mlada Beba spoke to us about the new sound and the scene they’ve helped shape — as young solo artists who have opened a new chapter in the region’s music.
From here, we take a step further and sit down with SebastiAn — the musician rapidly taking over Paris and beyond — to talk about Belgrade as an eternal source of inspiration, the blend of brutality and softness, and his collaboration with fashion house Saint Laurent. Meanwhile, Lena Dunham reveals the inspiration behind her new hit series Too Much.
We also explored the many ways we can reconnect with ourselves and liberate the body — as well as why festivals are a form of escapism, a parallel dimension we always enter for just a little too short a time.
In a world of immense social injustices, wartime upheavals, unimaginable tragedies, ecological disasters, and growing threats to human rights we once believed were secured, festivals — as spaces of freedom, togetherness, and self-expression — remain one of the few sanctuaries we can still escape to.
The new issue is available at all newsstands and via our webshop. Catch the pulse of summer with the latest edition of Vogue Adria!
