The eighth edition of Vogue Adria has arrived - Hajde da se volimo
NOVI BROJ
November 8, 2024
Hajde da se volimo! The new November issue of Vogue Adria, which is available at newsstands and in the webshop starting today, is dedicated to the miraculous power of music and togetherness, and Lepa Brena, who in the lyrics “Let’s love each other” unites all of that. This issue celebrates Brena as an icon and musical phenomenon that transcends time and space, a woman with countless roles and a forty-year career whose music crosses borders and bridges generational divides. She is a star whose persona and work have left an indelible mark on the popular culture of the Balkans.
Lepa Brena graces the cover of the November issue of Vogue Adria, but she’s also the star of the entire issue. In an in-depth interview accompanied by photographs by Branislav Simoncik, Nenad Janjatović reveals the woman behind the legend, discussing fame with her as well as the “invisible” aspects that fame brings. Ognjen Lopušina offers a guide on how to listen to her music—and how to love her, while Jordan Cvetanović explores how the phenomenon of Lepa Brena has made its way to the theater stage in the hit play The Lepa Brena Project.
In a season where hats are one of the key fashion trends, the new issue of Vogue Adria celebrates the century-old tradition of hat-making in the Adria region, with Petar Trbović uncovering the rich history and beauty of hats crafted locally. Luna Lu writes about the subversiveness of Yugoslav camp, censorship, and freedom of expression, while Selma Selman explores the inseparable connection between Roma music, culture, and migration. Reflecting on creativity and art that transcend borders, we spoke with young regional creatives from the fashion industry who live and work in London, as well as with Bosnian actress Selma Alispahić.
Exploring the importance of music in shaping identity, Tina Lončar spoke with photographer James Mollison about idolizing music stars and the power of their influence on personal style. Anđela Vidović wrote about the tectonic shifts women have brought to the film industry, and one of today’s most popular fashion designers, Simon Porte Jacquemus, opened the doors to his charming home in the south of France, with its unique view over the open sea.
