48 Hours in Paris with Ana Kraš

Tina Kovačićek

April 5, 2025

The cover star of the very first issue of Vogue Adria Living, Ana Kraš, was arguably the perfect choice to take us on a stroll through Paris, the city where she finally settled after her nomadic adventures that took her from Milan and Berlin to Los Angeles and New York. Here, she found a sense of calm (and chose to live in a part of the city that reflects that), and what she appreciates most about Paris, as she told our Jordan Cvetanović, is “that it’s the center of everything, but it’s not overwhelming or too big.”

The apartment she shares with her partner, model Ruben Moreira, is a reflection of her slow living philosophy, and she also revealed to us a softer, slower side of the city—one we hadn’t expected (because it’s easy to feel like Paris is always in motion, always demanding your participation). “I love exploring the city by scooter or bike the most. Paris is like a museum, it’s so beautiful—when you cross the bridges and watch the sunset, it feels like you’re inside an oil painting. I’m always surprised by how beautiful it is.”

As we imagined that dreamy golden-hour ride through Ana’s typical Parisian day, we asked her to share her favorite spots—those hidden addresses where she loves to spend her time.

Morning voffee with a view: Café Beaubourg

Address: 43 rue Saint-Merri, 75004 Pariz / @cafe_beaubourg

A charming Parisian brasserie and café, Café Beaubourg is located near the Centre Pompidou—a spot you’ll almost certainly find yourself passing during any stay in Paris. When that moment comes, make a point to start your day here. “I don’t drink coffee,” Ana says, “but I love sitting at Café Beaubourg and watching people go by. It’s close to the Pompidou, and the crowd is always lively and colorful in a really charming way. The café itself features original design by Christian de Portzamparc, with interesting details, and it’s one of those rare places where you feel like you’re traveling through time.”

Something to sweeten up day: Folderol

Address: 10 Rue du Grand Prieuré, 75011 Pariz / @f.o.l.d.e.r.o.l

A charming little shop that pairs natural wines with artisanal sweets, Folderol is beloved by Parisians—and for good reason. Though small in size, it offers that warm, comforting embrace you didn’t know you needed in the middle of the day. “My favorite treat at Folderol is their olive oil ice cream in a chocolate cone,” Ana shares. “I also love a good pain au raisin—I’ll grab one from any bakery I come across. I adore pastries and eat them every day.”

A Place for a cocktail: Candelaria

Address: 52 Rue de Saintonge, 75003 Pariz / @candelariaparis

An authentic Mexican taqueria tucked away in the heart of Paris, Candelaria is the kind of place where everything—right down to the tortillas—is made in-house. Behind a small, always-crowded bar, some of the city’s best cocktails are crafted with precision and flair. “I don’t usually drink,” Ana admits, “but a few times a year, I crave a spicy margarita, and the one called Vert at Candelaria is my favorite. It’s super fresh, made with jalapeño-infused tequila and lots of greens on the side.”

A Place for a dinner: Waly-Fay

Address: 6 rue Godefroy Cavaignac 75011 Pariz / @waly_fay

Given Paris’s rich multicultural spirit, Waly-Fay, a West African restaurant, stands out as one of the more intriguing dining spots—and it comes with a few key perks. “I absolutely love Shrimp Endole, and they make it just the way I like it,” Ana says. “The lighting is soft and dim, and the space is large enough that you usually don’t need a reservation—which I love, because I hate planning meals in advance.”

A museum to get lost in for an afternoon: Fondation Cartier

Address: 261 boulevard Raspail, Paris / @fondationcartier

Fondation Cartier is both a creative hub for artists and a space where art meets the public—an invitation to experience contemporary art in all its forms. “They often host beautiful exhibitions here,” Ana notes, “especially ones where architects I admire present large-scale spatial installations. They’re usually very special shows.” It’s also worth mentioning that later this year, the foundation will be relocating to a new, impressive space on Place du Palais-Royal—more on that coming soon.

A place for vintage shopping: Fashion Vintage Paris

Address: 68 Boulevard de Port Royal 75005 Pariz / @parisfashionvintage

To be in the fashion capital and not peek into one of its golden style troves would be unthinkable. Fashion Vintage Paris is a true hidden gem. “I almost never shop in Paris—and rarely shop at all, to be honest,” Ana admits. “I usually wear pieces I’ve designed myself and have them tailored by my seamstress in Belgrade. But there’s this cute vintage shop in my neighborhood where I’ve spotted some really interesting vintage designer pieces and accessories.”

A Place to chill: Bois de Vincennes

A forest just outside the city, only about a 15-minute bike ride away, Bois de Vincennes is the perfect spot for a little greenery therapy. “I love going there and walking deep into the woods, among the trees,” Ana shares. “I often bring a big blanket with me and lay it out in the thick grass—and since there are barely any people around, you really feel like you’ve escaped the city, like you’re completely alone in nature. But in reality, it’s just a 15-minute ride away.”
